Denver has had its first Comic Con. So what did I think of it? That is the main purpose of these weeks podcast.
Whoa!?! Another CwIP episode less than a week of the previous one? You bet your ass! Welcome everybody to Episode 21 of Conversations with IrishPride where I am going to talk about how I fail at multiplayer.Denver Comic Con has come to an end. In the next few days expect a write up and a podcast on the inaugural even for Denver, but in the mean time I give you the pictures that we managed to take. You can see some of them in the below slide show, and the rest in the gallery here.
Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Conversations with IrishPride. It's been awhile since our last episode of CwIP, so I'm hoping this one will make up for the break. Today I'm going to talk about Nintendo and how almost every other video game site are absolutely bashing them and saying how they lost E3. Well, I'm here to actually defend Nintendo and explain to all the other "giant" video game sites that you are absolutely wrong.
It has come. Tomorrow the first ever Denver Comic Con starts. At 6:00 PM MT the geeks will descend upon the Colorado Convention center to see stars, play games, and spend money that was meant for bills and rent. So what is there really all to see? Well no promises on filling it all here, but I will try.
1) Gaming (of course this is first, this is a video game blog afterall).
Colorado Cutthroat Connection (C3) will have tournaments on site. There will also be card games such as Magic and Pokemon. And for you HeroClix fans check out page 14 of the program to see the schedule for game times.
2) Guests
For their first year Denver Comic Con has done a great job at getting top notch guests. They have Colin Ferguson (Jack Carter - Eureka), James Marsters (Spike - Buffy), Billy West (Fry, Farnsworth, Zoidberg - Futurama), and Aaron Douglas (Chief Petty Officer Galen Tyrol - Battlestar Galactica). This is only a VERY small list and does not include the super impressive list of comic book artists and voice actors.
3) Events
Costume contests, Manga Panels and signings, there are enough panels to keep you busy all weekend, and so many they actually spilled into the nearby hotel. Friend of site Angichan has two panels, one Saturday and one Sunday about Getting Started in Webcomics.
Now this, as I said, is by no means everything that is happening at the convention. There is so much to see. For more you can get the program guide at http://www.denvercomiccon.com/programming/, or to save them some bandwidth you can get it here as well.
We have returned home safely from E3, and in the process we have, and are continuing, to create content based on the convention. Here are links to the articles we have created. This post will be updated as we add additional content for easy access, without flooding the main page.

While waiting in line for the live demo of Assassins Creed 3, I realized there were a plethora of awards for “Best of E3” or “Most Anticipated”, you know, awards of that nature. Naturally, my expectations for the game were high and luckily I was not disappointed.E3 has come and gone. I have now placed my thougths and experiances of the show into podcast form, so stay awhile and listen.
E3 Special
So I was going to do a full write up on Planetside 2 at E3, but then I felt it would be much better explained by one of the game designers, John Wonders.
