Denver Comic Con Special - Raphael Sbarge on Mass Effect

So last week we were at Denver Comic Con. While we were there, Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan Alenko) was at the convention and gave a great panel on his experiences on the Mass Effect series.

He makes references to a few outside resources during the panel, so you can find those here.

Deus Ex: The Fall Announced

Today Square Enix Ltd announced the latest game in the Deus Ex franchise. DEUS EX: THE FALL is set in the year 2027. In it you play Ben Saxon, a former British SAS Mercenary who has undergone augmentation and is now reliant on a specific drug to stay alive; a drug that is supplied by powerful corporations that have taken control away from all (assumption here) governments. Now after he has been betrayed by the Tyrants, his former private military employers, he is searching for the truth behind this drug conspiracy. The price of failure for not finding this out could be not just own life, but all augmented humans. What could be the only rub? It is for iOS only. Check out the YouTube announcement below.

Raphael Sbarge - Mass Effect Panel

Big news for The Gameslave, I am hosting a panel featuring Raphael Sbarge, the voice of Kaidan Alenko in Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3. This will be the first panel that I will have had the honor of moderating, so I am looking forward to it. The panel is Friday at 6:00 PM - 6:50 PM in the Hard Rock Café Room (506-507).

This is in addition to our normal coverage and our table located in Artist Valley at D14. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Denver Comic Con - Bad News and Good News

Stan LeeSo we have bad news and good news. The bad news is that comic book legend Stan Lee has had to cancel his appearance at Denver Comic Con this year. He had a last minute filming conflict for one of his famous cameos that happen in all Marvel movies.  We wish him well and will miss seeing him at the convention. But I would like to know what movie we are getting stood up for.

Good news is that Denver Comic Con has already gotten a replacement guest. The original captain of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701, William Shatner. This means that we are lucky enough to have two of the original cast members for Star Trek at Denver Comic Con as George Takai was already set to attend. If you were one of the lucky few to purchase the gold and silver packages to meet Stan Lee then your tickets will be applied to the new William Shatner Experience. Denver Comic Con will be announcing more details on this shortly.

William ShatnerSo does the fact that we lost Stan Lee suck? Yes, you never want to lose a guest at a convention, and the fact that this makes 2 / 2 years that Denver Comic Con lost a head liner looks rather poor. But did they do a damn good job getting a replacement? Hell yes, if someone has to follow up Stan "The Man" Lee who better then William Shatner. Now only if Leonard Nimoy could have come with him.
