Winter-een-mas Comes

You heard me, Winter-een-mas is upon us.  For those of you that do not know what Winter-een-mas is the explanation is simple.  It is a 1 week long celebration from January 25th - 31st of all that is gaming. The holiday was invented in the comic Ctrl+Alt+Del.  With its creation so where created the Spirits of Gaming.  The Spirit of Action and Adventure, the Spirit of FPS, the Spirit of Fighters, the RTS Spirit, the Racing Spirit, the RPG Vixen and lastly the Sports Spirit (all introduced here).  Since the creation of this pixel laden week it has started to take on a life of its own.  So much the creator has started to let people do their own thing with it and not push it near as much as when he setup this site.  Now many of you may wonder why should you care about Winter-een-mas (which probably could have used a better name honestly), beyond an great excuse to play video games for a week straight as a celebration.

Official Nintendo 3DS Release Date

The 3DS will be available in two colors at launch, Blue (pictured) and Black. Red will be coming shortly after.Nintendo just released an official date and price for the 3DS at their company's worldwide press events in New York and Amsterdam.  In an earlier article that I wrote; it was speculated that the price would be $300.  Thankfully it was exactly that, speculation.

The Nintendo 3DS will be released in the United States on March 27, 2011 for $249.99.  While it's still pretty damn pricy for a hand-held unit, it's at least 50 bucks cheaper than originally priced.  Nintendo also stated that in between late March and early June (3DS release date and E3) the new hand-held system will have over 30 first and third-party games, not too shabby for about two months worth.

The Nintendo 3DS is on the horizon.  If you are able to see a demo of the 3DS, do it.  You really have to see it to believe it.  Also, good luck getting the funds to purchase it on release day!

Summer Wars Review

Ah the life of a lower level system administrator. You just have to sit in front of a computer doing menial tasks. Your life is simple and unless something is really messed up you don't have to worry about anything high level. And that is almost how is worked out for Kenji Koiso. Then a girl by the name of Natsuki Shinohara bursts in offering him a four day job to come help out with her Grandmas 90th Birthday. So he takes a break from the system admin thing to follow her out to the country. Once there he finds out that he is supposed to be her fiancée because she lied about having one.

The is all a very minor part in the story itself and while it works well in this series for character development, it is not what makes this movie good. Their are two main stages in this movie, the house of Sakae Jinnouchi (the Grandma), and the digital world of OZ. You don't need to know much about Sakae's house except that is where out main characters play out what is happening

Verizon has the iPhone - What a Shocker

So despite not really caring, I feel compelled to announce something you all probably already know by this time.  Verizon has the iPhone 4 as of February 10, 2011.  This is possibly the worst kept secret since the PSPGo a few years ago.

For over a year it has be speculated Verizon would get the iPhone at the start of this year.  Then when they did not say anything at CES last week and scheduled a "mysterious" press conference the week after, it was kinda obvious to everyone.  But now the cat is out of the bag you (that is kind of an odd phrase really) and you can all check it out at Verizon's iPhone Page.  Just a heads up, no it does not use the 4G LTE network that Verizon has spent so much time building and hyping the past few months.

Now for the real question, where the hell is my 4G LTE Andriod phone?  Thunderbolt and Droid Bionic, I am looking your way.

4.7 Million! Bah, still not even 1/2.

So you may have heard that Cataclysm has successfully sold 4.7 Million copies in its brief existence. But Blizz still has many people they need to convert (not to mention wring dry of any money).  4.7 Million is only just over a third of the population in WoW.  The good news for this is that by people not having it immediately is that 12 million people are not in the Vashj'ir or Mount Hyjal.  So with that thinking I guess I should be saying, keep procrastinating people.  I have two more characters to level through those zones (at least right now)

Rock Band on Android?

Rock Band, the almost now default party game.  Almost all gamers have a least one iteration of this rhythm game.  Sure it has been made mobile in the past.  Rock Band on the DS, on the iPhone and whatever else it has been on, but these system have a flaw in them.  They remove what some believe makes Rock Band great, playing with friends.

Thanks to the new 4G LTE network that Verizon has launched though that may very well change.  They are planning on allowing 4 people to play Rock Band over their new network on a LTE Android device.  The only thing I worry about on this is how much data that can cost over a time period.  Click the source links to check out the full press release.
