The Professional Gamer - August 2, 2013

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week's installment of the Professional Gamer.  This week, things went wrong with the television.  The watching list is a bit short, but I made up for it in reading and gaming.

Watching:

With no television this week, my watching has been limited to whatever ZeldaQueen had on her computer while I was playing games.  This mainly consisted of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, which are our usual weeknight views.  To this we added Adventure Time Season 3.  That was the limit of dedicated viewing that I did.  I did periodically look over while ZeldaQueen was watching Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I've never seen the show and distracted viewing has left me with little idea of what is happening beyond robots punching aliens.

Playing:

I've continued playingthrough of Torchlight, and everything is going smoothly.  I am now about as far as I made it in my original playthrough.  Hopefully, I can have the game finished by the end of this month, so that I can move on to a new (at least to me) game.  I also realize that I have somewhat abandoned Final Fantasy.  I'll get back to that at some point soon.

Reading:

I did end up finishing Adventure Time Vol. 2 shortly after posting my article last week.  The comic was good; North continues to do a spectacular job of writting stories that have the same feel as the animated series, especially in terms of the charcter voices and speach.  I've also started reading The Incredible Shrinking Man.  I like it so far, but I think I Am Legend is the better book.  We'll see if I still feel that way at the end.

Failure of the TV is a bit of annoyance, mostly at the inconvenience and expense required to replace it, but for the immediate term, I'll make due.  Join me again next week for more geekery.
