The Professional Gamer - October 10, 2014

During the past week, I found myself busy with work during the day, but managed to find a good amount of time to spend on my geeky pursuits.  Lots of video games and started with a new anime series this week.  Read on to learn more about what I did this week.

Reading: I'm continuing to work through my copy of Practical Recording Techniques.  Although the book is primarily written for the sound engineer working with musicians, but much of the advice is applicable for recording voices as well.  Once I've finished the book, I'll try to incorporate some of the lessons into the podcast.

Watching: Crystal and I stumbled on Soul Eater: Not and began to watch it this week.  The show is super cutesy, which is a stark contrast to the original Soul Eater series.  However, as we have progressed further through the series, more gruesome elements have come to the fore.  Overall, the series is fun, but not as good as the original.

Playing: Crystal and I are still playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors, and I am still having some much fun with it.  Had a frustrating round with one of the Adventure Mode scenarios that required us to defend our base, but otherwise everything has been lots of fun.  I'm enjoying the process of upgrading the characters and the different play modes.

That's all for this week.  All of us are away for most of the weekend, but we will still try to get a podcast put together.
