I’ve had a somewhat busy week: full-time training at work and some last minute volunteering to help with elections. There was also that holiday in the middle of the week which is the reason that I currently have a house full of candy. But, let’s get on with it and talk about the more geeky things that I did this week.

First, I had a lot of fun with the Pokemon GO Halloween events. I’m inclined to think that some of the research goals required too many activities, such as using 108 berries and catching 108 creatures, but I was able to do all of it in time. And then, the offline tracking was added this week, which is going to help me a lot with hatching eggs and earning candies. All in all, a very good week of event and core changes to the game.

Halloween night for me involved giving out candy to a total of 7 kids, watching the old Disney version of Sleep Hallow, and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Definitely two great spooky animated classics.

Finally, I purchased MiniMetro, which is one of the few games that I’ve purchased for my phone. It’s a lot of fun and been a great distraction during my bus ride to and from work. I love that it is a puzzle/stratagy game. Like, you can’t “solve” a level. The random nature of the game prevents that. But you can learn stratagies that will help you make the most of any situation in the game.

And that’s it. That’s all the geeky things that I’ve done this week. A brief serious message: Election Day is Tuesday. Please make your best effort to vote. Nothing is going to improve without more people getting out to the polls and voting. With that, I will say good-bye until next time. Have a great week and game on!
