Review - The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot

In most games you play a hero adventuring for a great purpose. Your aim is to save a city, a people, or a world. That is not that case in “The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot”. In this free-to-play game from Ubisoft you are a newly arrived resident of the floating city of Opulencia. Here everyone has fortress like castles filled with monsters and traps that protect gold and life force. Your quest is to infiltrate these castles, kill the monsters guarding it, and take the treasure for yourself. Once a few castles have been relieved of their treasure then you get to build your own castle to protect your treasure. But does this formula of loot, level, build work?

Review - Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice: Gods Among Us allows us to re-enact the most famous battles in DC history. You have Batman vs Joker, Green Lantern vs Sinestro, and Superman vs Lex Luthor. And this is the primary reason that most people will play this game. Geeks everywhere will want to pit one of 24 (25 if you include the Lobo DLC) heroes and villains against each other. The fighting in the game is pretty easy to pick up. Attacks are split to split into light, medium and heavy with the 4th button performing a "unique" ability for each fighter. I say "unique" because while some are special others are very similar. Examples can be seen in how both Lex Luthor and Doomsday have shields Batman get bat-bots that he can use as a sheild or toss them. Each character has a reason for these abilities though so they do make sense in their execution. The game also has a power meter that grows when you land or receive blows. It has 4 sections and each section can be used to give special attacks extra power, perform counter attacks, or if you save all 4 you can perform a super attack that will take anywhere between 30% - 40% of your foes health. Combat will take some time to get used to, but overall it is a lot of fun.

SimCity 2013 - Review

NOTE: This review was written by The Advanced Gamer, another site we are collaborating with.

Everyone has played Sim something if you ever had a PC in your life. SimCity started it all. If you liked SimCity I-IV then you will love SimCity V. Maybe.

You play the god-like mayor of the city of your dreams. You design it literally from the ground up. Build streets, zone residential commercial or industrial areas.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine Review

It is the 40,000 millennium, the grim far future, and there is only war.  The game begins with an alert about an Ork invasion on the forge world of Graia.  Several options are suggested, but due to the fact that the Titan Invictus is currently on this planet they are not able to just scour the planet from orbit, and they cannot wait for a fleet to come and help.  This is where Captain Titus (you), Sidonus, and Leandros come into play.  These three are Space Marines, Ultramarine chapter.  It is up to them to take down the Orks and protect the Titan until reinforcements arrive.  These three are a good choice for this.  As they go in they know there is nothing down there they cannot handle.  A few thousand Orks can be taken care of in a few weeks if they had the time. Thus you use jump packs to enter the fray.  Talk about a way to make an entrance.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Review

The Future is Now

It is the year 2027 and technology has started to advance to the point where it is merging with humanity. The line between man and machine has started to blur, and it is in this world that Deus Ex has placed us. You are Adam Jensen, head of security for Serif Industries.  Serif is one of the leaders in human augmentation.  It is your job to protect your place of business from corporate sabotage and possible terrorism from Purist, a group of people that find augmentation a sin against the human body.  They are not necessarily a terrorist group, but there are extremists within any movement.  You are first introduced to the world by talking with Dr. Megan Reed (I think she is your girlfriend).  While walking around with her you see many of Sarif’s experiments, and eventually talk with the owner David Sarif.  That is when things go to hell and an environmental alarm goes off.  As the head of security you head on down to take care of things to find some guys that look like a black ops team.  They have invaded just as Megan is getting ready to make leave for a conference in DC for a breakthrough announcement.  You are even doing a good job holding your own against these soldiers, until an augmented infiltrator throws you through several inches of safety glass almost killing you.  You are kinda saved by Megan, but at this point you pass out due to blood loss and fade to black.
