This Weeks Geek - Time or Money
/
Curse you video game industry. The majority of your blockbuster hits all seem to come out around the same time. I know that the holiday season is important to make sales, but would it be possible to spread things out a little more? I am still working on Borderlands 2 and Fable: The Journey. Then Assassin's Creed III just came out last week which I have barley played. Now Halo 4 comes out tomorrow, which due to the fantastic job Microsoft did with Forward Unto Dawn mini series I am actually more excited about then I was before. I don't have the time to get and play all these great games.Assassin's Creed III - Interactive Trailer
/I don't know about you, but I am enjoying these interactive trailers that have become popular as of late. The latest of which to follow this new trend is Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed III. This one has a nice set of options for multiple viewings. Enjoy!
This Weeks Geek - The Assassins
/The Gameslave Podcast - Episode 127
/So we created a plan for this podcast, we really did. But we failed to stick to it at all and ended up going on random tangents. Hope that keeps you entertained this week cause it was a lot of fun to record.
Notes are at the podcast page.
Assassin's Creed Season Pass
/
This has nothing to do with the DLC. I just liked the shot.Ubisoft has announced that you can get all 5 DLC packs that will come out for Assassin's Creed III as they come out for one cost of $29.99 (2400 MS Points). The season pass will come out within 6 months of the game coming out and will give people a saving of 25% on the DLC packs (assuming you buy all 5) and, this is the cool(ish) part, you get the DLC a week before non-season pass owners. This means you get a chance of bragging rights on beating the new DLC before your friends get a chance to even play it.
So what do they plant to do with this DLC? Well for the first one they are doing a "what if" model. A quick quote from the press release:
“History is our playground – and AC teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period,” said Sebastien Puel, Executive Producer at Ubisoft. “While Assassin’s Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened.’”
To show this off the first DLC is titled "The Tyranny of King George". In it George Washington looks at the newly freed colonies. People love him and want him to rule. In this reality he take the over to live as king, and the power goes to his head. Now Conner must fight a man he once called friend to end the new tyranny.
So what do you think? Do you like the idea of this sort of "What If" DLC? Also what d you think about this continued use of a season pass?
The Revised Boston Tea Party
/You all know of it. In 1767 a number of colonists had said enough is enough. They refused to accept the imported tea of Britain, and instead of letting them take it back home, they tossed it into the harbor. But is this the whole story? Have we been told everything that happened? It does not appear so, and we will get the full story on Halloween.
Comic Con International is Coming
/
The mother of all Comic Conventions is around the corner, and that is San Diego Comic Con. It has grown leaps and bounds, and now encompases all entertainment, and not just comics. As such this means a number of game developers / producers are setting up shop. What can you expect to find on the show floor? Well here is what has been reported after the jump. The Gameslave Podcast - Episode 102
/Despite Earth being under attack by Reapers as we speak I managed to record today. It was short, but we have aliens trying to kill us, so give me a break.
