Good news folks, Denver Comic Con starts on Friday. This means that in a short couple of days (or one depending on when you actually read this) we will be neck deep in comics, cosplay, and general geekiness. But being a large con there are a few things you should know.

If there is one thing that is unique to Denver Comic Con, one thing that you don't typically see at other cons (at least to my knowledge), it is the annual beer that is named by fans and available only during Denver Comic Con. Previous years winners have included The Fantastic Pour, Caped Brewsader, Brews Wayne, and Hulk's Mash. Well starting 2/29 the tradition continues with the 5th Annual DCC Beer-Naming Contest! In concert with Breckenridge Brewery; Denver Comic Con will have yet another unique brew that will sell out in no time flat.
Read MoreA few years ago many of us were disappointed to hear the Stan Lee had to cancel his Denver Comic Con appearance. Well, those dark days are over and he is now scheduled to appear at DCC 2016! He will be appearing for all three days (June 17 - June 19) and will have a panel on June 18th in Main Events.
This is actually better then the original 2013 appearance were he was only slotted for one day. This year is looking good! Excelsior!
Sure it is still around 6 months away, but that does not mean it is too soon to plan for Denver Comic Con 2013. Starting on November 23, 2012 at 12:00 PM (AKA: Black Friday) you can buy your tickets. So far there are three ticket levels, only two of which have prices. Your normal 3-Day pass is $45. This allows you to the con as a normal human. It is your base, I want to go on a budget pass. Next is the VIP pass. This makes you special. You get in 60 minutes early on Friday and 30 minutes early on Saturday / Sunday. A shorter line for autograph and photo ops with guests (during their scheduled times). A shorter line for main events, t-Shirt, commemorative pint glass, lanyard, VIP Badge, and either 1 autograph or photo with a guest (convention's choice). All of this is yours for $150. This brings us to the Stan Lee VIP package. You get all the things in the normal VIP package plus reserved seating for Stan Lee's panel, special photo op with Stan Lee, one item autographed by Stan Lee, and a Stan Lee VIP badge. No clue on the price of this one, so lets just say you will need to empty you savings on this one.
