The Professional Gamer - July 1, 2019

I had a bit of a stressful week with working, trying to get lots of reports out the door. But now it is the weekend, and I’m going to have some time to enjoy myself again. And by enjoy myself, I mean play a whole load of D&D. I did have some time during the week to have a little bit of fun during the evenings too. Mostly its been playing some Elite: Dangerous, continuing watching Deep Space Nine and starting out with the first few episodes of Good Omens. So, let’s talk about those things in that order.

First up, is Elite: Dangerous. I’m continuing my meandering journey towards the Colonia system, and today discovered my first neutron star. It was so pretty and cool to see something really new in the game. Then, I nearly crash landed on a high-gravity high metal content world and harvested a bunch of resources. Luckily, I had compromised my jump range a bit in order to have a shield equipped on my ship. After I picked up a bunch of stuff, I set course to another neutron star and jumped out of the system.

Next, Deep Space Nine, where I finished season 2 and got started into season 3. “The Search” is a pretty good season opener. I had to stop half-way through “The House of Quark”, an episode that I very much love. It’s a Ferangi episode; it’s a Klingon episode; it’s both. Two great tastes that taste great together.

Last, seeing the internet in general freak out about Good Omens was not enough for me to watch it. I had to wait for all of my friends to go crazy about it too. I wasn’t too sure that I was going to get into it. Then, just as promised, I watched the episode 3 cold open, and am totally into this. That said, I haven’t gotten past that point yet. I’m sure I will this week, when I’m ready to consume new media again.

And that’s it for this week. I got back to back D&D games this weekend again, so that’ll give me something to write about next week. See you next time. Have a great week and game on!
