Hello, readers! I hope you all were able to enjoy the holiday weekend. I’m spending my extra time off running, enjoying time with friends, sleeping in, and catching up on some video games. So, let’s talk about some things.

I won’t take up a bunch of your time with details, but I did really well at the race on Thursday, got a PR and was able to beat my brother by a significant amount. Given that he’s ten years younger than me, I think that is quite a feat. Then, I spent the rest of the day hanging out with friends, eating some grilled foods, and drinking some tasty beers.

I have tended to try to fill my days with a lot of things: time for work, doing chores around the house, and time to pursue hobbies and other interests. Unfortunately, having a pretty full schedule at work, lots of weeding to do at home, and trying to prep myself for this run, has left me with a pretty bad sense of burnout. Friday, therefore, was a day dedicated to recharging myself. First up on the busy agenda was letting myself sleep in as long as I wanted. Then, a little bit of Elite: Dangerous, followed by breakfast, and going for a walk to catch some pokemon. I unfortunately did have a bit of work that I need to do: preparing a paper for a conference. I spent a few hours working on that, but didn’t push myself too hard with it. Dinner, and an evening with friends working on my blog post for the week pretty much closed out the day.

I’m not sure what I’ll do with the rest of my night at this point. I may work a little more on my paper, and then start reading Witch+Craft, a D&D supplement that I helped Kickstart earlier this year. I have a character in an ongoing campaign that I’d really like to use some of the rules for. I hope you all had a pretty good weekend as well, getting the amount of relaxation and fun that you need to feel recharged and ready to work again. Have a great week and game on!
